Priligy is a prescription-only medicine (POM) used to treat premature ejaculation. The drug is available in 30mg and 60mg tablets. There is no set duration for ejaculation. However, medics term anything less than 2 mins as premature. Priligy increases the time by 300 % in some people. The drug treats premature ejaculation by reducing anxiety.

Description

For a man to ejaculate, a reflex is sent from the brain to the sympathetic nerves. The body uses serotonin to pass messages between nerves. Priligy works by increasing the activity of serotonin in the nervous system. It selectively hinders the reuptake of serotonin. This process stops the ejaculation expulsion reflex from reaching the brain too fast. Consequently, there is control during sex, leading to ejaculation lasting longer.

Ensure you stay well hydrated when using this combination to prevent dizziness or fainting. Stop using Priligy and see your doctor immediately if:

  • You experience seizures.
  • You faint or feel lightheaded.
  • You notice mood swings.
  • You get suicidal thoughts or thoughts of harming yourself.

Directions

It is recommended that you start taking Priligy 30mg tablets if you are a first-time user.

  • You should take one tablet 1 – 3 hours before sex.
  • Swallow the pill whole with a glass full of water.
  • Never take more than one tablet of Priligy in 24 hours.
  • Food does not affect Priligy.
  • Alcohol causes sleepiness and dizziness. Avoid alcohol with Priligy for better erection and ejaculation duration.

Ingredients

Dapoxetine is the active ingredient in each Priligy Tablets. The other ingredients are:

  • Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.
  • Tablet coating: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate titanium dioxide (E171), triacetin, Iron Oxide Black (E172), Iron Oxide Yellow (E172).

Side Effects

If you experience side effects from Priligy, they may include headache and dizziness. Priligy has a small risk of the following:
