What is Oxcytetracycline?

Oxytetracycline is an oral antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial infections such as rosacea and acne. Acne symptoms normally appear as a mixture of whiteheads, blackheads, and redness, often known as spots or pimples. It is an antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline class, commonly used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is effective against acne, respiratory infections, skin infections, and some sexually transmitted infections. The tablet is usually taken over several weeks to help clear up chronic or acute bacterial conditions.

How Does Oxytetracycline 250mg Tablets Work?

Oxytetracycline is a tetracycline-based antibiotic that kills the germs that cause acne. Oxytetracycline 250mg tablets function by inhibiting the bacteria's ability to create the proteins necessary for their survival. This action hinders the spread of infection, reducing inflammation in sebaceous glands and allowing the skin to heal naturally. The immune system destroys the remaining bacteria or they will eventually die off as a result of disease progression.

Warnings

  • Do not take more than two tablets within 24 hours.
  • Do not take Oxytetracycline if you have a heart, liver, or kidney problem, without your doctor's approval.
  • Do not take Oxytetracycline when pregnant or breastfeeding without discussing your status with your doctor.
  • Always inform your doctor about any prescription medication you are currently using.
  • Do not take Oxytetracycline if you are allergic to any of the ingredients present in Rizatriptan.

Directions

It is important to follow the dosing instructions on the package or from your healthcare provider carefully to get the most effective results.

  • Oxytetracycline tablets should be taken on an empty stomach, 30 to 60 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal. However, if you experience nausea and stomach upsets, you can take the tablet after a meal.
  • Do not chew or crush the tablet to avoid losing some of its properties.
  • The recommended dose for taking Oxytetracycline is two tablets a day, preferably in the morning and evening.
  • To eliminate extra bacterial waste and sebum, wash the afflicted areas with a mild soap or cleanser like
  • Acnecide or Cetaphil once or twice daily.
  • After washing, pat the portions dry with a towel rather than rubbing them vigorously together as this may irritate your skin further. Avoid over-washing the affected region since drying out your skin too much might aggravate it.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Oxytetracycline is oxytetracycline.

The inactive ingredients are magnesium stearate, quinoline yellow, hydroxypropyl cellulose, maize starch, titanium dioxide, Hypromellose, pregelatinized, sodium lauryl sulphate, ethylcellulose, povidone, sodium starch glycollate among others.
